I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. -Psalm 119:11
Whose Cup are You Filling?
We all know that seeing the cup half full is better than seeing it half empty—Life is all about perspective. How we choose to see becomes what we see. I see our lives as cups, desiring that we seek to be filled with everything that God has for us. I don’t want our lives to be half full. I want it to filled to the brim—and not just filled to the brim but overflowing. You see, when we seek to live from the overflow of what God deposits in us, guess what we have the opportunity to do? We get the opportunity to fill the cups of others around us. There are so many depleted people who have yet to experience the fullness of God in their lives. They are tired. They feel hopeless. They are in bondage. So when we choose to be filled in His love, grace, mercy, patience, joy, and the list goes on....the overflow of those will spill into the cups of those around us. Every day, God gives us the privilege of drinking from His never ending well through His Word, His presence and His Spirit. We can’t afford to miss being filled because others lives depend on it. Our overflow is a filling for others. Our overflow is a taste of God’s love for others. Ask God to daily fill your cup until it overflows. Let His love be made complete and full in you so that you are overflowing because that’s where the strength comes to do what God has called you to do. Declare today--“...My cup overfloweth” Psalm 23:5 And ask yourself, whose cup are you filling today?
