I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. -Psalm 119:11
I get weary sometimes.
My hands get feeble.
My feet don’t want to walk.
My mouth doesn’t want to speak.
My heart doesn’t want to engage.
My mind doesn’t want to perceive.
In these moments, the fight becomes real.
The enemy’s desire to keep me from Your presence feels tangible.
I pray Your strength to push me near
And I pray Your words to build me up
I am reminded of what You tell me:
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:28MSG)
Father, help me live in that unforced rhythms of Your grace.
Every ounce of it, I need.
Help me rest in what You see in me and say of me.
You alone have the life that so many chase after.
Let me drink from Your cup when mine feels empty.
I will keep company with You.
Teach me to live freely and lightly from the cares of this world.
Only You will I set my affection on.
In Jesus Name,
